search edit

I agree that it is one of the most frustrating / counterintuitive facets of myinfo. Almost every search I do is followed by clicking on the window and wondering why I can't alter text.

I should really be used to it now after over a year of use - but I still get caught out.

[added] Hyperlinks from photos

Not sure if this is due to be addressed but we should have the ability to make images into clickable links - at the moment as far as I can tell we can only make text into a clickable hyperlink - or ar I missing something here?

Correction to my original post - I now realise that the 'back colour' command provides the equivalent of 'highlighting'

[fixed in mi3.60] Bugette with highlighting found items

I did a search on a word and the instances of that word are highlighted yellow in the found document. I then edited that word. The highlighting has persisted in that document. I've saved and reopened the document and it is still there. Its no major problem - I can remove the highlighting by 'remove ...

Ah I've worked it out! The other window hasn't disappeared - its merely shrunk to nothing - so I can drage the divider bar back and now have both windows back again.

Panic over.

Ok - I've been using ctrl shift ERand T for a few days - a couple of observations 1) It certainly helps the 'uncluttered screen' look which at least I like. I've looked in the past at mindmanager, evernote etc and there are frankly far too many buttons and windows in all of them. 2) There really nee...

that's great - it'll keep me going for the time being... (although the hide tree function would have been a good toolbar / menu item rather than just a keyboard shortcut)

I have no real intention of upgrading to Vista for the time-being -presumably the new version will still work on XP?

full screen view?

I've just got a UMPC and think it's fabulous. However, screen real estate is at a premium, and editing documents can be a little fiddly. It's never going to be top of your list of things to do - but the abillity to enter / edit text with some kind of full screen view would be a definite improvement....

Frequently used documents

I often start off a myinfo session at certain documents in a topic. I know how to find those documents relatively easily but it would be even quicker if I could have shortcuts to specific notes. Either in the format of buttons in the menubar or even (how about this for originality!) a menu item call...

Apple alternatives

I recently bought a Mac, at least partly because I liked the look of all the myinfo equivalents that Apples have - such as omnioutliner and Devonthink. I have to say that so far I'm not convinced. Maybe its because I'm just more used to a windows interface - but myinfo seems a lot more intuitive and...

[Bug in 3.57] search in middle of word

I'm not sure if I've raised this before - but if you search on the letters in the middle or end of the word the search won't work - so search criteria Jon will find the word Jones BUT search criteria ones will not find the word Jones. This is important to me because I put some references in brackets...

I run it on a removable hard drive in 2 locations, and have used a usb key in the past. It seems to work fine, either with the program installed on the removable disk or on the 2 computers

I run myinfo off a removable hard drive that I move between computers. Otherwise a synchronisation program - there are a number of freeware ones around - has worked fine for me
