Changing data documents

Post by Prudentius »

MyInfo Help says that "MyInfo allows you to view and change the contents of the data documents". But I can't find another way to change the contents of a data document than to first save a copy on disk, then edit this file, and then embed it again into MyInfo. Is there another way?

If I open the embedded object with the View File command in MyInfo, and then edit the file and save it, all changes are lost. Could you at least make sure the file is opened in write protected mode, so the user understands that he must save it another place than the temp folder in order to preserve the changes?

Yes, this is a mistake in the help file. MyInfo does not allow the contents of the embedded file to be changed directly, however this is planned for the next versions.
