HTML formatting

Post by pja »

Hi!

Once again, thanks for the quick fixes with version 3.56.

The Problem

I have a large web site http://www.u3answ.org.au/ to convert. Originally I developed it in 'hand-cut' HTML code (using TextPad http://www.textpad.com/ which is the 'MyInfo' of text editors). The problem occured when I stopped supporting it and other volunteers took over and their HTML skills were not 'up to scratch'. I have since re-built the site but now need to convert it to a form that is more easily maintainable. I tried several WYSIWYG HTML editors but they were either difficult to use or expensive to buy. I then tried MyInfo and was very surprised at the result. While I have used MyInfo for outlining for several years I have never used it for serious web page work. However, it really does a good job; see: http://www.u3answ.org.au/test/index.htm

The Suggestions

Short term

Would it be possible to have horizontal rules <hr> and blockquote formats in the base MyInfo and have these available in the 'export to HTML' function.

Long term

Match all MyInfo text formatting with equivalent HTML formatting so that when exported the HTML pages have a richer range of formats. I would be happy to provide more detail and testing if you ever require it.

This would then make MyInfo not just a very good outliner but also a very good WYSIWYG web site builder.
