Possibility to show the nonprinting characters

It would be fine if the so called "nonprinting characters" could be displayed in the editor on demand (in the same way as it is possible for example in Word or in other programs with an editor).
It is the function which I can start usually by clicking on this symbol:
As far as I have seen, this symbol is not available under Tools ---> Customize ---> Commands.
