changing folders
In MyInfo 7 is it possible to change the location in which notebooks are stored ("MyInfo Notebooks")? I would prefer to shift the notebooks into a folder where they will be backed up by Dropbox.

Re: sorting
Great news. But if in version 7 I change these separate notebooks into sections of a single notebook, will I then be able create a perspective that will sort notes (by periodical and date) from all the sections of that notebook? (Sorry, I realize that this question may be more relevant in the beta f...

Re: sorting
Yes, that works beautifully. Thanks to both of you. But just two further questions. Will it be possible to do something like this in the next version of MyInfo? I have experimented a little with the beta, but I'm not sure that it has anything like the "filter" menu. Second, is there any wa...

Re: sorting
No, I have set up the notes as ordinary bibliographical entries (in an ordinary alphabetical sequence), but I was trying to temporarily reorganize them so that I could carry my laptop to the library and examine all the articles, in chronological sequence, in a particular journal. After some further ...

sorting
A small question about sorting notes. In one of my notebooks I have a large long list (i.e. separate notes) of articles in various periodicals. I have also set up columns for dates and names of the periodicals (among other things). Ideally I would like to be able to see a list of the articles arrang...

Re: importing from TreePad
If I understand your question correctly, yes, of course, it's almost always possible to copy-and-paste from one app to another. I was just trying to avoid that, because I had such a substantial body of material in Treepad.

Re: importing from TreePad
Just this afternoon I found the answer to my question. In TreePad X Enterprise, click *database* on the menu: then go to *export*, *subtree*, *to files*. At that point you can choose the Treepad Plus format as one of your options. Using MyInfo's import menu, I was then able to transfer over the enti...

importing from TreePad
I have in the past imported some old TreePad Plus files into MyInfo, and it went smoothly. But the problem I'm facing now is that I have one large, very important file in TreePad X Enterprise format that I want to move into MyInfo (because I haven't used Treepad for many years), and I'm not sure how...

changing font size
My default font for MyInfo is 14pt Georgia -- which is just the right size on my desktop monitor. But when I am using my laptop screen in a library or on the road, 14pt Georgia is a bit too small for comfortable reading. I realize, of course, that I could, when necessary, change the font size in the...

"Send to MyInfo"
I've been using MyInfo for many years, yet I'm embarrassed to say that I've never really explored the "Send to MyInfo" extension in Chrome, because whenever I need to record some information from the Web, I just copy-and-paste. I can see now, though, that the "Send to MyInfo" rou...

question about portable version
I've used MyInfo for many years, but only today have I begun experimenting with the portable version, and I find that already I have a really basic question about it. Is there any way of copying all my various preferences (such as colors and keyboard shortcuts) over to the portable version, or will ...

[confirmed] deleting a filter
Deleting a filter causes MyInfo to freeze. When I close MyInfo (with task manager) and reopen it, I see that the filter has in fact been deleted, but I find this behavior troubling. I've tried to remove filters in several notebooks, and in each case the result was the same. Has anyone else had this ...

Search results panel
I seem to recall seeing a comment several years ago that it is possible to display more than a single line for each hit in the search results panel. Is that true, or is it just wishful thinking on my part? What I'd like to have in that panel is the note title plus the search word(s) in context -- th...

Re: strikethrough?
You can create a font style with strikethrough. Slightly cumbersome, but it works.
