Re: PDF editor or editing capability
Actually, I think the easiest solution would be just to allow the user to open a PDF using a text editor on our computer. Users could edit the PDF and save it back into the MyInfo database, and view it within MyInfo. Its a simple solution- if a user needs to edit (add highlighting, or add notes) to ...

Re: New version?
Hi Petko, A new version will undoubtely bring some new and exciting changes. I really do hope you might be able to create a cross-platform version. I would like nothing more than to be able to switch back to Linux (again). Good luck with development!! I'll be happy to participate in testing a new be...

Re: PDF editor or editing capability
The ability to edit PDFs would greatly enhance MyInfo's usefulness to researchers. One of the key reasons Mendeley is so popular as a research tool is that it has a built-in PDF editor. Same thing with nearly all of the major QDA Qualitative Data Analysis (CAQDAS) applications- they all have (or are...

PDF editor or editing capability
Hi I was using Mendeley for a while for organizing academic papers- one of its main attractions to so many users is that it includes a built-in PDF reader/ editor that allows the user to mark-up PDFs with comments, notes, highlighting, underlining and bookmarks. These editing tools are really VERY u...

Re: Editing Captured Web Pages?
Thanks for your detailed message about your workflow Bill. Its interesting to see how other people organize their work. I think I might adopt a similar approach for photographing books and documents. I'll have to import it from Evernote into MyInfo. I just really do not really like giant corporation...

Re: Editing Captured Web Pages?
Yes, capturing web pages in Scrapbook first, editing them, adding notes, highlighting text etc is something that I do too prior to importing into MyInfo. I don't understand the technical implications of how hard it might be to build an editor for webpage captures with capabilities similar to Scrapbo...

Re: Editing Captured Web Pages?
Jim raised a good point. Sometimes I would like to make a note about a document in a "notes pane" below the main document. I suppose I could use "Comments" for this purpose as a viable work-around. What I had always hoped to find in note-taking applications like MyInfo is the abl...

New version?
Hi
I had heard some mention of a new release of MyInfo. When *might* we expect to see version 7?
Keep up the amazing work Petko,
R.A.

Re: Cross-platform version?
That's very good news. Perhaps have a look at the plans made by the developer of Surfulator to make his app cross-platform. http://blog.surfulater.com/2012/06/29/surfulater-next-generation-part-1/ It would be nice if there was some type of simple version available for portable devices. And a cross-p...

Re: move content from one installation to another
Is there no way to avoid having the program save all those settings to the "user" folder in C:\Documents and Settings\[user name]\Application Data\Milenix\MyInfo\4 and just have it saved together with the document database? It would seem that this would be an easier solution for many users...

Cross-platform version?
Hi Petko,
Do you have any long-term plans to perhaps release a cross-platform version of MyInfo?
I don't know if this is technically possible- to have one application that can be ported to Windows, Linux, Mac.
Keep up your great work with this amazing application. And thanks!

Re: Web Clipping
Very good to hear that this problem will be fixed. The web-clipper is now quite good, and with such ongoing updates, will likely soon rival the best web-clippers out there! Looking forward to that!
