Editing linked (not imported) external files?

I'd like certain external files to be used by MyInfo and by other programs (e.g., a more robust text editor). I'd like changes I make in a text file to show up in both places.

When doing very light changes - say to an HTML file, I'd want to use MyInfo. When doing extensive changes, I'd like to use something like NoteTab Pro. Either way, the work would be done on the external file.

Is this doable with MyInfo Pro?

Thanks.

You want them only linked by MyInfo, but not stored there?

I just saw this - so many years later. Gotta be a record for a resumed conversation! :D

Yes - Just so... I'd like to be able to bring a .txt or .html file into MyInfo and have it be viewable and editable within MyInfo, but stored externally so that I can use the updated file with other programs.

This would allow me to store files within MyInfo without reference to their Windows folders, so as to group them, for example, by subject matter, project, milestones, etc. I could then do lite editing within MyInfo or elect to open my text editing program to do more extensive modifications.

It's true that this would make MyInfo even greater than it already is! I'm using it a lot, and I've noticed that dealing with linked files is one of the most time consuming processes in working with this program...
