[solved] bi-directional linking (backlinks)

Post by Jon »

On the website under personal wiki, there is mention of bi-directional linking. Is this automatic? How would I set this up?

Thank you.

Lets illustrate this by example
1. Open MyInfo (assuming empty notebook)
2. Rename the initial note to say AAA
3. Right click the note: copy link to this note
4. Create a new note
5. Paste the link in the editor area
6. Go back to AAA note

Link to this paragraph works exactly the same. Hope it helps

Recently, version 7.2 introduced:
"Added: Added bidirectional note links."
The steps above seems to refer to a unidirectional link, older functionality already provided by MyInfo.
I'm wondering what is and how works the new "bidirectional" note links. Any idea?
I searched the manual for bidirectional, but no entry was found.
Thanks!

When you link to another note, if you look at that "linked note" you won't see a back link in the note body, but if you look above the note body at the note title and to the right of the note title you'll see a little box that shows up that will say a number of "backlinks" with a little arrow that points down and to the left. If you click on that it'll show and let you choose the links that point to that note(s).

Thanks for the clarification. That's a nice functionality!
I've attached a screenshot pointing to the "backlink" dialog.
There is a pin button, which docks and provides a detailed view for the backlinks.
