[solved] default in template edit panel

Post by shalom »

In AskSam, I set up a template to use when I entered a new note. I'm not sure if I am doing the template correctly, but I can't seem to get anything to show in the edit panel when I add a new record. It just comes in empty. Is this possible to do? If so, how do I do it?

Yes, you can create a new template via View > Templates. Just create a new note there and set its text and attributes (including a form if you want to).

Then, return to normal note list view. To create a new note using the newly created template, click Insert > Note > and from the submenu pick the template name.

It is also possible to set this template to be used by default for new notes. You can do this for both the notebook (via File > Properties) or for a section (right click on the section tab > Properties).

Thanks, it worked. I guess I wasn't creating the template correctly because I couldn't get it to work before.
