Master Password entry and auto-open all protected ones

Post by DONLEONE »

after having created many mini mio databases
(to benefit of having each one auto-hoisted always when i go to them)
i find myself wanting to pwd protect a certain few
but leave some others general ones open.

and since i have plenty of memory for MI
i like to open them all up at once at the start
to have the maximum search speed possible.

but CURRENTLY
if i have say 10 protected mio's at the start
i have to type and re-type the password
over and over again for each one
which is really nerving.

so i settled having NO password at all
(so they open all up instantly without me)
and putting them instead
into a protected container
like Veracrypt, Steganos etc.

but it would be great if there was a way,
to just type in ONCE a master password
and have MyInfo immediately open all the other mio's
(that have the same password automatically as-well,
or kind of re-entering it for me automatically

or else

just open all the protected databases as-well
that belong to the same workspace
once they are unlocked with a master password)

so maybe you might consider,
this master password way
for possibly version 7 as-well.

or maybe version 7 will be so robust and strong
that i would not even have to split my database
into so many separate mio's anymore
but can then "almost" have them all in one
at a great speed still.

greetings

I think that the last option will be the right one for you. Since MyInfo 7 will be much faster and will allow you to have multiple sections in a single database, you will be able to split all your topics to just two databases: one for password protected and one for general topics..

Personally I prefer the method ued by TreeDB, which allows you to either password protect a file or a record (document), so you can open a file with lots of password protected documents. You only need to enter a password if you wish to view a protected document. Instead of MyInfo's way of having to enter a password for each and every file.
